Manual Therapy
Manual physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. In manual therapy, practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and improve joint stiffness caused by joint dysfunction.
A certified manual physical therapist has completed a rigorous schedule of coursework and passed both a written and practical exam in this specialty. Charles Piazza, PT, DPT is a certified manual physical therapist. |

The Graston Technique® is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. Specially designed stainless steel instruments are used to detect and treat areas with soft tissue fibrosis and/or chronic inflammation. We have a Graston Technique certified physical therapist on staff. To learn more about this manual technique, click on the image above. |
